Privacy Settings to Review When You Install EliteInsta

Installing a second app is the perfect excuse for a privacy pass: account visibility, story audience, message controls, activity status and login activity.

Privacy settings belong to your account, so they follow you into any client, unchanged. That is exactly why install day is the right day to review them: they were probably set years ago, in a hurry, for a life you may no longer lead. This is the review our reviewer runs on her own account whenever she sets up Elite Instagram on a new phone.

Public or private, decided on purpose

Open your account privacy setting and make the choice deliberately. A private account approves every follower and keeps posts, stories and highlights inside that circle; a public account is a shop window. Neither is the correct answer for everyone, but the default you fell into at sign-up is rarely a decision. Remember the setting governs the account in every app at once, so there is nothing separate to configure for the gold build.

Stories, messages and the middle layers

Below the headline setting sit the ones that shape daily life: who can reply to your stories, who can message you and whether requests from strangers arrive at all, whether your activity status shows when you were last active, and who can tag and mention you. Set story replies to people you follow if your mentions have become a chore, and turn activity status off if read-at-midnight should not be public information. These are account settings, reviewed once, respected everywhere.

Login activity, the security mirror

While you are in settings, open the login activity list and read it like a bank statement: every session, device and client your account holds. Setting up EliteInsta adds a line you can explain; anything you cannot explain gets removed, and if a true stranger appears, change the password the same day and review your two-factor methods. The full safety routine around this page is in our EliteInsta account safety guide, and it is short enough to do quarterly.

What privacy settings cannot do

No setting makes a third-party client official, and no setting hides your activity from Instagram itself; the service sees the account, whichever app presents it. What these controls genuinely govern is your exposure to other people: followers, strangers, taggers and message senders. Keep expectations there, keep the email on the account current for recovery, and keep a periodic copy of your own data as our data backup guide describes, and your privacy house is in honest order.

Share the review with your other account

If you run two accounts, do this review twice, once per account, and expect the answers to differ: the shop may need to be findable by everyone while the personal account approves each follower by hand. Different lives, different doors. The settings take minutes per account, and an afternoon spent once beats a year of meaning to get around to it.

Quick Answers

Do privacy settings differ between EliteInsta and the official app?

No. They are account settings, identical in every client you sign in with. Set them once, in whichever app is open.

Can people see that I use EliteInsta?

Other users see your account, not your client. Your posts, stories and messages appear as normal Instagram activity.
